Coola Ladies GAA

Senior Ladies

The senior ladies had a very successful year having reached the Connacht Senior C semi-final. Coola had comprehensive victories over St. Brendan’s college, Belmullet and St. Mary’s College, Ballysadare. However the ladies suffered an unlucky defeat to St. Joseph’s, Foxford in the semi final. At half time Coola were leading 3.5 to 3.3 and with the scores level at full time, extra time had to be played. The girls showed great determination but unfortunately lost out on a massive scoreline of 9.15 to 7.11. The panel on the day was as follows; Sinéad Mc Tiernan, Nicola O’ Reilly, Katie Mc Dermott, Éire Gorman (captain), Ciara Glynn, Nicola Mc Goldrick, Gráinne O’Loughlin, Lorraine O’Reilly, Rachel Hennessey, Niamh Morely, Lisa McConnell, Niamh Mohan, Marie Clarie Doyle, Elaine O’Connell Subs: Sonia McDermott, Aisling Mohan, Rachel Healy, Kristen O’Reilly, Shona Gorman, Charlene Gilmartin, Edel Kelly, Linda McGarry.

Junior Ladies

The Coola junior ladies suffered defeats to St Claire’s Manorhamilton and Carrick-On-Shannon. However they ended the year on a high with a terrific victory over Castelrea. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to get through the group stages but the girls competed very well in what was a high division.

1st Year Blitz

The first year girls participated in a blitz in St. Farnan’s Park, Templeboy on the 7th March. Well done to the girls who won all their games on the day, beating Enniscrone, The Mercy College and Enniscrone. The panel was as follows; Aoife Conlon, Yvonne Mc Donagh, Grace Callaghan, Chloe Merrick, Deborah Corcoran, Jessica Brehony, Roisin Faughnan, Niamh Caulfield, Shauna Cullen, Sinéad Mc Tiernan, Ailish Benson and Aisling Henry.
